I don't know why, but these pictures would not post the other day, so here is the rest of our trip...
The strange thing is I thought I hardly took any pictures while we were there! It is amazing how much more relaxing things are with only adults in-tow.
More interesting architecture
These women were busy spinning and weaving right in the store they sold the clothes in that they make.
This guy was busy cutting up a live turtle on the sidewalk. Everytime the turtle stuck his head out, the man would bonk it on the head with the handle of the knife. Tian agreed that this sounded like a bad idea and that the turtle should be dead before cutting it up. (He was just under the assumption, though that we would all want to eat turtle if prepared in a more humane way). As happens with most amazing or gross stories I tell Johna when we get home, she totally misunderstands why I am telling her the story and says, "yes, we do this in the Philippines, too. Did you eat it? It is very yummy." No, we didn't try it.
As anywhere else in China, most laundry is hung out to dry. No matter people just paid $12 to get into the old part of the city and really don't want to see your laundry. But, I guess this is part of the whole China experience :)
